From The Minx:
Hey, Everyone! Welcome! We're going to try something a little
different this year with regard to sacred space, gen.decoration &ritual
@FnF's campout.What I'd like to do is"open up"the idea a bit,not only
bringing new people in,but opening up the idea of what we all call
ritual &sacred space; i.e.- it can be anywhere & anything.
Think about
it;we've all(almost all)been to the site before......Is there a space
there you always thought needed a bit more adornment,to point up further
the natural beauty of the surroundings?A place you always felt was
a
special place?Go for it!Just 'cuz Jane &Walter didn't place a coupla
bricks there doesn't mean it's not an altar/shrine.
Do you have art to share? How about painting/scuplture placed
in the
garden?
As far as ritual is concerned,is there anything that starts or ends
your
day that simply makes that day,or"gives you a break"when things get
icky? IMWK( altho I don't think masturbation or a group tooth-floss
is
gonna do it- c'mon now.....)
What do you think ritual and/or sacred space are? What defines what you
call spirit or deity?I hope to be able to use this list as a forum
for
ANY idea floatng around out there,so get thinking. A start-off
suggestion: Saturday eve/ Sunday(July 31-Aug 1)is the Pagan celebration
of Lammas,Lughnasah,First Harvest: however you call it,it can be a
wonderful celebration of whatever has gotten us"here"in our
lives.Consider celebrating it for where FnF is now vs.where the
community was when you came in. Consider also, celebrating your own
journeys, recent or long-term- physical travel, psychedelic experiences-
people & events that have been catalytic to you being the wonderful
freak that you are now.
Altars/sacred spaces/rituals are manifestations of intent. Everybody
has"stuff" that holds a special charge for them.Bring it!(Not granny's
antiques,please.Our insurance won't cover your 300-year-old moss-covered
family credenza.)I'm sure like-minded souls have something similar
enuf
to get an altar or small shrine going around whatever you have in
mind............Camp&Sons also has tons of beautiful pine
cones,lichen-covered branches,vines,grasses to braid,weave &wrap.If
you
can't bring something,maybe make it?Perhaps an a.m.hike on Saturday
will
turn up treasures.........anybody interested?
Anyhow- it's your turn to throw some ideas out there..........And while
I don't feel we've too many shy souls in out
tribe, talking"intent"&"spirit"&such can be tricky for some,so
please
feel free to email me privately at<lighthaus@earthlink.net>or

right#if you hear about live/work spaces for sale-I'm a realtor, you
know)
Hoping to hear from many of you- Lets have a great time w/this-bring
friends in! How about a potluck gathering to start off?We can have
it at
the Lighthaus.When's best for everyone?
