Cleanup Crew

Cleanup mostly happens on Monday.  If you can stay Monday to clean up it will be THE BOMB.
Ethan, what about Sunday evening cleanup crew?  How should I schedule this/how many?  Lemme know what you'd ideally like this table to look like.
The table below, for now, is for cleanup crew Monday.

Ethan
Shawna Easterbrook
Megan Sullivan
Christina Reise
 Kirsten
 Maui
 Chris De Salvo
 Re Ach (hopefully, ride permitting)
 The Minx
 Jen (Little Mishka)
 Claudia
?
Sean
Greg
Stephanie Frame
Rick
Batya
Rocky
?

Ethan sez:
There was informal cleaning crew last year which was me, greg, claudia, re-ach, rhoda and others.
This is a VERY IMPORTANT aspect of staffing. If you would be willing to schedule this it would be awesome.
Note that I am planning on staying through Monday morning for final cleanup. Having at least 6 more people there on Monday would be great.

Larry sez:
The messiest thing I remember having to deal with at the last campout was the gross kitchen garbage cans. A note to the kitchen crew - since a lot of the kitchen trash is wet and/or bulky and/or easily rottable, it better to test the weight of the trash bags inside the cans
occasionally, and replace the bag with a new one when a weight limit is reached, not by how high the trash is.

I had to empty one can last year by hand  :P  because the bag would have broken if I had tried to lift it out!

Rick et al. suggest having separate garbage cans for compostable stuff.

What is the Site Coordinator's job?

From Tony:
Okay, i will try and explain the Site Coordinator shift as best i can, quickly.

HISTORY
Unofficaly, someone like Ethan, or Scott Nelson would sort of be the SC all night, dealing with cops, etc.  But now that there are more people who feel comfortable with that responsibility, we have made it a shift.

The position was officially created first, as I know it, at the 2nd Cloud Factory campout in Oregon.  The year before, some records got stolen and there were some fuckers that should have been booted, but no one was "in charge" at that point (read: 5am), with most people asleep.  We agreed that the next year there needs to be someone who is "responsible" for whatever pitfalls might come, make sure DJs are there, gas is in the genny, greet police, etc.  Since OODE is a small party with no shifts per se, the role is more broad with FnF in Willits.

RESPONSIBILITY
First, the SC should be sober.  The SC looks over, or manages, if you will, all the shifts happening at that time (parking, gate, etc).  The SC is a roamer, that is, can fill in here or there when someone is late for a shift, find late shifters, fill genny's with gas, wake up DJs, water down dusty dance floors, pick up garbage, tap kegs, be on love patrol, etc. They should deal with the cops (this person would be the one who knows where the paperwork is and have the story straight about the party), with Jane and Walter, with whomever.  They should make executive decisions when they need to be made.   Because the person can roam, they tend to be longer shifts, because you aren't stuck at the door, or in a parking lot.

It's not an impossible shift, but preferably the person should be confident that they can deal with the cops, make decisions, and stay sober.

From Rocky (slightly edited :-):
read it again folks.  no really.  yeah, actually, yes, be sober.  i know this is hard for many people, so if you cannot lay off for a while, then don't volunteer. sc also has to deal with any emergency that comes up, stuff like that.

Breaking News:
After ff-planners discussion, it seems it makes sense to have a "Site Coordinator intern" (no blowjob jokes please).  If someone wants to learn the SC ropes, find an SC that you would like to tag along with, and arrange with them to be their assistant.  Then do the job with them and watch how it goes and help them out.  This'll expand the pool of potential SCs for future parties, while keeping the lines of responsibility clear (it's the SC who's the responsible party, though the SC intern should also obviously be sober).

It would be great if the SC intern also worked a regular shift.  Let's play it by ear for now though.

OK, I'm calling it "SC Assistant" rather than "SC Intern."  Or no, how about deputy?  Deputy SC.  I like that.  Let's see who hates it :-)
